In today’s episode:
We interview Tom McLaughlin, the author of Nonprofit Mergers and Alliances. Tom was the lead consultant during Upic’s formation during 1999-2000 and helped coin the acronym U.P.I.C. (then known as United Way Processing and Information Center) to reflect the flexibility/choice which has been a hallmark of our service offerings since the very beginning.
In this episode, Tom shares:
- his recollections about Upic’s early days,
- definitions about the different types of non-profit collaborations,
- why collaboration efforts sometimes fail,
- tips to help determine which organizations are serious about collaboration, and
- a few words of advice for future United Way collaborations.
To contact Tom for collaboration consultations, please email tom.mclaughlin@nffusa.org or call 617-549-9611.
